The first time we were introduced to bamboo clothing, we immediately fell in love with its softness. It felt like cashmere or silk.  It wasn’t until we learned about bamboo’s unique and natural properties that we came to “believe” in the clothing. In April 2009 we decided to buy Buchic Bamboo Clothing; we thought it was our opportunity to share this sustainable bamboo clothing with others.

We are Heather Lucasse-Bray and Sophie Kirscht, two moms of young children who wholeheartedly believe in the importance of sustainable living. We at Buchic believe that eco-friendly clothing is essential, because it allows everyone to do their part in protecting the earth, even the youngest members of your family. 

 

Our Bamboo Clothing

Buchic was founded on the principle that we can offer soft, stylish and sustainable bamboo clothing to our customers at an affordable price. We knew that as a company, we could educate consumers on why we should use textiles that have less of an impact on our planet earth. We take this commitment seriously and we will only offer clothing that is eco-friendly in nature and we only work with manufacturers that share similar values.

Most of our clothing is produced in the United States and a limited amount is imported from China. Regardless of where the clothing is made, our manufacturers all have strong principles:

• – Fair Trade – no child labor and no sweatshops
• – GOTS – Global Organic Textile Standards
• – ISO Certified – international standards that manufacturers adhere to
• – Öko-Tex 100 – certifies that there are no residual, harmful chemicals
• – AZO-free Fiber Reactive Dyes – use less water and energy, do not
     require fixing agents which may contain heavy metals or formaldehyde
